SEMI FROZEN ESPRESSO COFFEE WITH VANILLA ICECREAM / AFFOGATO

It is also called as "Affogato" which means drowned in Italian. Its a mixed blend of hot but not boiling 1/4th part Espresso coffee over 3/4th part Vanilla Ice cream. The result is the coffee melting the ice cream in parts forming an Affogato. I prefer keeping a shot of hot black coffee at the side and to keep on topping up as required.
 

SEMI FROZEN COFFEE WITH VANILLA ICE CREAM / AFFOGATO

INGREDIENTS

Vanilla ice cream scoops
2 nos
Hot strong black coffee
1 ½ glass
Cinnamon pdr (optional)
A pinch
Chocolate sauce
As required

 

METHOD:

1.       Drizzle the chocolate sauce on the insides of a chilled glass.

 
2.       Put the ice cream scoops at the base in the glass. They should fill almost ¾ of the glass.

 
3.       Now pour hot black coffee from the sides to fill up the glass.

 
 
4.       Decorate on top with more chocolate sauce, and sprinkle cinnamon pdr.


5.       Cinnamon pdr can also be added to the hot coffee to intensify the fragrance n taste.
 

6.       Serve immediately with a shot of more black coffee at the side to top up.
