PALAK RICE / SPINACH RICE
INGREDIENTS
Palak / spinach blanch and puree

1 cup

Basmati Rice soaked for 15 min
|
1 cup
|
Hot Water
|
1 ½ cup
|
Garlic cloves sliced in length
|
5 – 6 nos
|
Onion chopped
|
1 no
|
Green chillies
|
3 nos
|
Jeera / cumin seeds
|
¼ tsp
|
Jeera pdr / cumin pdr
|
½ tsp
|
Haldi / turmeric pdr
|
¼ tsp
|
Salt
|
T.T.
|
Oil
|
1 tbsp
|
METHOD:
1.
Grind the spinach to a puree along with green
chillies.
2.
Heat oil, add in the jeera and garlic. Sauté
till it starts to brown. Remove out a few garlic pieces for garnish. Now add
the onion and again sauté till soft and lightly browned.
3.
Now drain the water completely and add in the
rice.
4.
Sauté till it becomes translucent.
5.
Now pour in the spinach puree along with haldi,
jeera pdr and salt.
6.
Also add in the water and when it comes to a
boil simmer. Cover and cook till done.
7.
Sprinkle little more water if required.
8.
Garnish with fried garlic slices. Serve hot.
