MATAR BATATA RASSA / GREEN PEAS AND
POTATO CURRY / मटार बटाटा रस्सा
INGREDIENTS
Matar / green peas shelled (cooked
till soft)

Potatoes boiled and cubed

1 no

Ginger
|
1 inch
|
Garlic cloves
|
2 – 3 nos
|
Green chillies
|
2 – 3 nos
|
Scraped fresh coconut
|
4 – 5 tbsp
|
Tomato chopped
|
1 no
|
Salt
|
T.T.
|
Oil
|
1 tbsp
|
Rai / mustard seeds
|
¼ tsp
|
Jeera / cumin seeds
|
¼ tsp
|
Haldi / turmeric pdr
|
¼ tsp
|
Red chilli pdr
|
½ tsp
|
Coriander leaves chopped
|
2 tbsp
|
METHOD:
1.
Grind together ginger, garlic, green chillies
and coconut to form a coarse paste.
2.
Heat oil, add in the rai, jeera, haldi and the
ground paste.
3.
Sauté it in oil till the raw aroma goes off.
4.
Add in the chilli pdr and tomatoes. Again sauté till
the tomatoes are tender and oil starts to separate out.
5.
Add in the potatoes and peas, ½ cup water and
bring to boil. It should be a little saucy.
6.
Season with salt and add in a little chopped
coriander leaves.
7.
Garnish with a little scraped coconut and
coriander leaves. Serve it with chapati or phulka.
